ICT as communicative tool

ICT as communicative tool

People also used ICT as communication tool. Because of the ICT, teacher and students can able to communicate easily without any problem. They can able to share their ideas and information despite physical barrier like space and time. Example : Email and online chat

Two types of communications:
1. Synchronous
It is  one type of communication that occurs in real time and can take place face to face  communication irrespective of distance.
It is used for instructional activities that require higher degree of interaction.
Example: telephone conversation, instant chats and video conferencing.

video conference

Telephone call

 2. Asynchronous
  - not requiring the people to communicate at the same time or in other ways it is type of communication where caller or message sender doesnot get instant respond from the person they want meet.
The activities that require more time in thinking before responding.
Example : E-mail, we chat and vle discussion forum.

wechat

vle discussion forum

Email

Difficulties of synchronous
- multiple threads of discussion are difficult to follow.
-slow connection distracts the concersation.
-difficult to make quick comments by slow computer

   Difficulties of asynchronous

-checking the discussion in vle, email and                                                                                                   wechat is addtiobnal task for the learners.

-asynchronous nature discourages learners                                                                                                  participation
